At Waterdown Collision, we are always looking for ways to improve the value that we provide to our customers. That’s why when the Canadian Collision Industry Accreditation Program (CCIAP) was launched a little over a year ago, the team here was eager to become accredited. Today we are proud to announce that our Certified collision centre has received our Structural Accreditation.

What this means for you

Waterdown Collision customers will still receive the same great service, but now you can have even more confidence knowing that our Certified collision centre has met or exceeded the many rigorous standards that have been set out by the CCIAP.

The introduction of this accreditation program was a long time in the making. Vehicle repair today is significantly more complex than it was just a few years ago thanks to the many innovations in car manufacturing. Insurers and customers both want assurance that when a vehicle is taken into an automotive shop for repair that it is done with a high degree of expertise.

We understand that customers want to work with companies they can trust. By taking the extra steps needed to become accredited, we are showing our customers and future customers that we are willing to do what it takes to earn that trust.

Standards for accreditation

Whenever an accreditation process is added to an industry, it offers the opportunity for that industry to become stronger. It sets professional standards, giving customers confidence that they are in good hands when they do business with an accredited company.

To become accredited by the CCIAP, Waterdown’s Certified collision centre was audited against the four key pillars of the program: equipment, training, procedures and general business requirements.

  • Equipment – must be up to date, well maintained and in good working order
  • Training – mechanics and other staff must have current and continuous training and updating to meet and exceed today’s collisions highest standards
  • Procedures – strict protocol for diagnosing problems, inspecting vehicles and making repairs
  • General business procedures – meeting legal and ethical standards of how our business is conducted

While there have been some similar accreditation programs in the United States, they have not taken into account the unique challenges of the Canadian market. The CCIAP is a made in Canada solution for Canadian car owners and repair facilities.

Waterdown Collision is proud to be the first repair shop in the greater Hamilton area to receive their accreditation.
